About this scholarship
The Dean's Scholar award at Southern Methodist University supports incoming first-year students who were President's Scholar finalists but were not selected for the top President's award. Recipients may receive up to full tuition, excluding fees, for up to eight consecutive fall and spring semesters or until graduation. SMU notifies finalists through the admission and financial aid process without a separate scholarship form beyond the President's Scholars evaluation track. Students must maintain a cumulative SMU GPA of at least 3.000 with full-time enrollment, and combined SMU merit and need-based aid cannot exceed tuition and fees.
