D G Laird Prize in Soil Science

Open to the fourth-year Soil Science student at UBC who achieved the highest aggregate standing in third- and fourth-year subjects, including the graduating thesis.

A $400 prize awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems; no separate application.

Endowed in honour of Dr. David G. Laird, who served 30 years as Professor of Soil Science and was the first chairman of the Department of Soil Science.
