About this scholarship

Undergraduate College of Undergraduate Studies students at Colorado Christian University who memorize a complete book of the Bible may earn a Scripture Memory Scholarship toward tuition.

Award amounts vary by book memorized. Students recite the book verbatim before two witnesses, submit a verification form, and complete a Scholarship Advisory Committee review. Each book pays only once, though multiple books may qualify for separate awards.

Declare intent by emailing Student Financial Services before beginning memorization. The scholarship is open to current or incoming CUS students using any recognized Bible translation.

What else to submit

  • Scripture Memory Scholarship Verification form completed by the witnesses
  • Must be a current or prospective College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) student at CCU (not available to College of Adult and Graduate Studies students)
  • Memorize a complete book of the Bible (any translation)
  • Email scripturememory@ccu.edu to notify intent to participate and specify which book(s) you plan to memorize
  • Recite the entire book verbatim before two or more witnesses, who complete the Scripture Memory Scholarship Verification form
  • Attend a validation meeting where the Scholarship Advisory Committee quizzes you on random portions (session no longer than 30 minutes)
  • Recitation must be nearly word-for-word with no prompting permitted
  • Email Student Financial Services before beginning memorization to declare intent and identify the book or books.
  • Each book can receive an award only once, though multiple books may qualify separately.
