About this scholarship

Outstanding graduate students with disabilities entering the fifth or sixth year of a Ph.D. program at UBC may be considered for the Clifford Alexander Robson and Else Loella Robson Memorial Scholarship.

Scholarships valued at $25,000 are available through an endowment established by an estate gift from Else Loella Robson (1924-2018), in memory of her husband Clifford Alexander Robson (1916-1957). Scholarships totalling $75,000 have been made available through the endowment.

Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, in consultation with the Centre for Accessibility.

Clifford (B.Com. 1938) worked as a sales manager at a lumber mill. Else (née Panum) immigrated to Canada from Denmark in the 1950s. Else experienced macular degeneration later in life and was supported by ophthalmologists in the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
