Named nursing scholarship created in memory of Christopher Thomas Cash, a Durham native and WCU student inspired by caregivers during his illness to pursue nursing before his death in 1994. The award supports students admitted to Western Carolina University's nursing programs who embody commitment, compassion, and excellence in patient care. Prospective nursing students cannot apply until admitted to the university; current undergraduate and graduate nursing students compete through the annual WCU scholarship application.
