About this scholarship
Open to a student entering the UBC Bachelor of Education program with high standing in Arts courses.
The award is a $650 prize endowed by Dr. M. Uchida in memory of Chitose Uchida, B.A. '16, the first Japanese-Canadian to graduate from UBC in Arts. Miss Uchida taught school in Alberta for many years before returning to Vancouver to retire.
Selection is made on faculty recommendation. There is no separate student application.
