For a continuing University of Calgary Faculty of Arts undergraduate majoring or minoring in History and entering second, third, or fourth year. One $1,000 prize is offered annually on academic merit. Applicants must have taken at least two Canadian history courses with a grade of B or better in at least two of them.
Students are considered through the Undergraduate Nominated competition for continuing students. Once selected, the recipient submits a statement of up to 500 words on local history (its importance, or a narrative about a person, place, or favourite local site) to the Department of History for possible publication. The donor is the Chinook Country Chapter of the Historical Society of Alberta.
