Deaf or hard-of-hearing Alberta residents pursuing post-secondary or vocational training in Alberta, or at specialized out-of-province programs, may apply for these scholarships from the Edmonton Community Foundation.
Up to two awards are granted annually, each worth up to $7,000. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and sign-language knowledge.
The fund honors Charmaine Letourneau, an educator and Deaf advocate who received the Order of Canada in 2001 for improving quality of life for Deaf people.
