About this scholarship
Domestic and international doctoral students whose dissertations were accepted by SGS in the eligible window can be considered for the CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Awards, which recognize original doctoral work that makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline.
Two awards are given annually in rotating fields of study. Each award includes an honorarium and a certificate presented at the Council of Graduate Schools annual meeting; reasonable travel expenses of recipients are also paid. Catalog amount is listed as varies.
At U of T, application is by nomination through the Governor General's Gold Medals competition.
