The Captain Bruce D. Rutherford Scholarship Endowment supports full-time incoming freshmen from Bell County or Harlan County, Kentucky, who have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. The scholarship is renewable while recipients maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and full-time enrollment at Morehead State University. It honors Captain Bruce D. Rutherford, a Morehead State alumnus and retired U.S. Navy director of the Armed Services Blood Program, who created the fund to help students from his home counties afford college.
