About this scholarship
Capital District Leadership Awards are $5,000 competitive scholarships for incoming UAlbany first-year students from the greater Albany region who demonstrate leadership experience and passion for community involvement. Eligible applicants must apply to UAlbany by November 15 through Early Action and submit the competitive award application by January 1, 2026, with possible interview participation. The non-tuition award renews for up to three years if the recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA, completes 12 or more credits each semester, and stays actively engaged on campus.
