About this scholarship
Canadian citizens and permanent residents in eligible master's programs (and in some cases doctoral programs) in Canada who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies may apply.
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarships Master's program provides financial support to high-calibre scholars and supports up to 3,298 students annually across disciplines. It is administered jointly by CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC.
Indigenous applicants may also be eligible for the Indigenous Scholars Awards and Supplements Pilot Initiative (a $5,000 supplement for meritorious Indigenous CGRS M applicants, and a $27,000 one-year award for alternate candidates, subject to available funding).
