About this scholarship
Canadian citizens or permanent residents with strong ties to Atlantic Canada who graduated from an Atlantic Canadian university and are entering the first year of a full-time master's or doctoral program at the University of Toronto can be nominated for the C. David Naylor University Fellowships.
These are prestigious one-year entrance fellowships. If a recipient's program is funded, the fellowship is awarded in addition to the program's normal funding commitment. Catalog amount is listed as varies; confirm the current value with SGS.
Nominations are made by graduate units based on admission applications. Candidates should tell their prospective unit they wish to be considered and must be available for an interview. Selection weighs academic excellence, leadership, community service, and ties to Atlantic Canada.
The fellowships were endowed by a gift from the Arthur L. Irving Foundation in honour of former U of T president C. David Naylor.
