About this scholarship
Incoming Brigham Young University freshmen may be considered for the Presidential Scholarship (Dallin H. Oaks Scholarship), BYU's most prestigious freshman award. Recipients must show academic excellence plus character, leadership, integrity, and devotion to Church standards as outlined in For the Strength of Youth. Applicants must opt in to allow BYU to use ACT or SAT scores for Presidential consideration.
Fifty new entering freshmen receive the award each year, valued at 150% of Latter-day Saint tuition for eight semesters.
Complete the essay portion of the BYU scholarship application and submit ACT or SAT scores by the scholarship deadline. The committee also reviews admissions application information.
