About this scholarship
High school seniors, Burger King employees, and immediate family members in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, or Guam with at least a 2.0 GPA may apply through the BURGER KING Scholars portal administered by Scholarship America.
Award amounts range from $1,000 to up to $60,000 depending on the scholarship track. Multiple awards are granted each year.
Complete an online student profile with transcript, work and extracurricular history, financial information, and employee details if applicable, then submit electronically. Awards recognize academic achievement, financial need, leadership, and community involvement.

- Copy of the first two pages of parents'/guardians' IRS Form 1040 (or Canadian T-1 tax return) to document financial need
- Eligibility: U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, or Guam high school senior planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college or vocational/technical school
- Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated community involvement (volunteering, sports, clubs, and/or religious organizations) and/or work experience
- Application window: opens ~October 15 and closes when 30,000 applications are received or ~December 15, whichever comes first
- For the high-school-senior track, plan to enroll full-time in an accredited college or vocational/technical school.
- Application scoring recognizes academic achievement, financial need, leadership, community involvement, work experience, and extracurricular history.
- The application may close early when 30,000 applications have been received.
