About this scholarship
Boston University selects approximately 20 first-year students each year for the Trustee Scholars Program. Candidates show exceptional academics plus intellectual and creative breadth beyond the classroom.
The Trustee Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition and mandatory undergraduate student fees and is renewable for four years when criteria are met, including a minimum 3.50 GPA and on-campus housing.
Nomination by a high school principal or headmaster is required. Submit complete admission materials by December 1. No CSS Profile or FAFSA is required for this merit award.

- Trustee Scholarship essay: answer one of the two provided prompts in 600 words or fewer
- High school principal or headmaster nomination
- Applicant selects ONE of the two prompts to answer (not both)
- Indicate which prompt you chose when submitting
- Essay must be 600 words or less
- Submitted via Boston University Common Application by the December 1 deadline
- Nomination by high school principal/headmaster is required for Trustee Scholarship consideration
- Candidates are selected for exceptional academics and intellectual and creative breadth beyond the classroom.
- Renewal requires a minimum 3.50 GPA and on-campus housing.
