Bob Ackles Scholarship

Open to a UBC student who exhibits high standards of scholarship, leadership, and experience in the management or administration of UBC athletic, recreation, or intramural programs.

Friends of Bob Ackles endowed a $500 scholarship in honour of the former BC Lions general manager, who spent his career in Vancouver sport management.

The Director of Athletics and Sport Services makes the recommendation, in consultation with the Director of Awards and Financial Assistance. There is no separate student application.
