About this scholarship
U.S. citizens or permanent residents with at least a bachelor's degree who are pursuing careers that require regular use of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, or Khmer may apply. By the grant start, applicants must be at or near an advanced level (minimum third year of college language study) and able to study full time abroad for one academic year at an approved East or Southeast Asian language program.
Fellowships cover tuition and a stipend for living, travel, and study expenses; amounts vary. No grants support study in the United States. Apply online with a career essay, CV, recommendations, and transcripts, and separately apply to the language program itself.
The Blakemore Foundation funds intensive advanced language study for people who will use the language throughout their professional lives.
