About this scholarship
The Bishop Scholarship at Southwestern College supports international students with ties to the United Methodist Church who wish to participate in campus ministry through the Leadership Team, Discipleship Team, or Worship Outreach program. The Institute for Discipleship provides five thousand dollars annually as part of a broader aid package that helps Bishop Scholars graduate without debt. Two scholarships are awarded each fall, and applications are due February first through the online Bishop Scholars application with a pastoral reference letter. Selection considers church affiliation, financial need, ministry interest, leadership potential, global perspective, and referral sources.
