About this scholarship
The Big A Scholarship Fund, established in memory of Jason E. Andersen, a former Alpena High School football and basketball coach, awards scholarships to Alpena High School graduates who earned a varsity letter in sports and have overcome adversity in their lives. Recipients may attend Alpena Community College or other postsecondary institutions; ACC students apply through the CFNEM competitive scholarship program and must also complete the ACC Foundation scholarship application when attending ACC. Awards support students from Alpena County who demonstrate resilience and participation in school and community activities.
