Beverly Ann Barnes Big Block Scholarship

Outstanding UBC Vancouver varsity athletes in any sport may be considered for this scholarship. Preference is given to female athletes.

One or more scholarships may range from $500 each up to the maximum allowed under athletic association regulations, funded through an estate gift from Beverly Ann Barnes (1951-2016). Selection is made on the recommendation of the Athletics Award Committee; there is no separate application.

Beverley Barnes (B.P.E. 1973, M.Ed. 1996) played on the Thunderbird women's basketball team from 1970 to 1974, made the Canadian women's national basketball team in 1972, and competed at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.
