For a University of Calgary undergraduate in any faculty entering second, third, or fourth year. One scholarship of up to $400 is offered annually on academic merit, with preference for Gender and Sexuality Studies majors and outstanding performance in WMST 405 Seminar in Feminist Praxis. Students must be registered full-time but need not carry a full course load.
Students are considered through the Undergraduate Nominated competition for continuing students. Family, friends, and colleagues established the scholarship in memory of Bettina (Betty) Fournier, a University of Calgary instructor from 1978 and a founding faculty member of what became the Faculty of Communication and Culture until her retirement in 1996.
