Barry Goldwater Scholarship

College sophomores and juniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with at least a 3.0 GPA and intent to pursue research careers in natural sciences, mathematics, or engineering must apply through their campus Goldwater faculty representative.

Each scholar receives up to $7,500 per academic year for one or two years depending on class year. Up to 454 scholarships may be awarded nationally. Nominees submit a research essay, questionnaire, three recommendations, and transcripts.

Campus nominations are due the last Friday in January. Direct applications without campus nomination are not considered.
