About this scholarship
For University of Calgary Faculty of Arts undergraduates entering second, third, or fourth year in Communication and Media Studies or Film Studies. Two awards of up to $400 each are offered annually: one for the best paper in a COMS course by a Communication and Media Studies major, and one for the best paper in a FILM course by a Film Studies major.
Students are considered through the Undergraduate Nominated competition for continuing students. Dr. Barbara A. Schneider established the awards to recognize well-researched, well-argued student writing in those programs.
Essay questions
What else to submit
- A paper submitted in a COMS course (Communication and Media Studies route) or a FILM course (Film Studies route).
- Consideration occurs through the Undergraduate Nominated competition for continuing students.
- Award recognizes well-researched, well-argued student writing; one award is for the best eligible COMS paper and one for the best eligible FILM paper.
