About this scholarship
Students entering the final year of the UBC Forest Resources Management program may receive one of two scholarships from this endowment.
Each scholarship is $1,300, endowed by A.V. and Elizabeth M. Backman. Both academic achievement and leadership qualities are considered.
Awards are made on Faculty recommendation. There is no separate student application.
The Backmans showed strong interest in forest resource policy and economics.
