About this scholarship

ASCE members of any grade in good standing who will continue formal graduate education in civil engineering, especially hydraulic engineering, may apply for the Freeman Fellowship. Up to three graduate students may be selected annually. Previous recipients may reapply if still eligible.

Award amount varies based on fund income and may support tuition, research, living expenses, experiments, publication costs, or travel to engineering works. Submit the online application with a faculty-signed contact form, a 500-word personal essay, budget statement, proposed research description, resume, at least two recommendation letters (one from a faculty member), and an official transcript.
