About this scholarship
Diverse J.D. students at accredited New York-area law schools (including Connecticut and New Jersey) in good academic standing who intend to practice intellectual property law full time may apply.
Two awards of $10,000 each may be granted at the foundation's discretion. Funds are for tuition and law school-related expenses.
Submit a professional resume, official transcripts, one letter of recommendation, and a 300-word maximum essay on your interest in intellectual property law and how the scholarship would support your education and career. Recipients are invited to the New York Intellectual Property Law Association Annual Meeting Awards Dinner.

- Official undergraduate, graduate if applicable, and law-school transcripts
- One letter of recommendation
- Essay of no more than 250 words
- Three professional references listed on the application
- Diverse status as a member of a minority group, with the intention to pursue a full-time career in intellectual property law
- Enrolled at an accredited law school in the New York area (including CT and NJ), in good academic standing
- No family relationship to an officer or director of NYIPLEF
- Professional resume including academic highlights, work experience and extracurricular activities
- Undergraduate, graduate (if applicable) and law school official transcripts
- One (1) letter of recommendation
- A commitment to use scholarship funds solely for tuition and expenses related to attending law school
- Three professional references listed on the application form
- Scholarship funds must be used solely for tuition and law-school-related expenses.
- Recipients are invited to the New York Intellectual Property Law Association Annual Meeting Awards Dinner.
