Anne and George Piternick Student Research Award

For doctoral students at UBC's School of Information (Vancouver), to support library and information science research.

Awards totalling $3,950 for the funding cycle. The Doctoral Studies Committee may split the award among multiple recipients in a given year.

Students apply to the Chair of Doctoral Studies with a cover letter, a research proposal of up to one page outlining objectives and methodology, a budget with a detailed rationale, and a timeline. The award covers research expenses such as consulting experts, visiting collections, data-analysis software, or presenting results.

Family and friends endowed the award in honour of Professors Anne and George Piternick, who taught at the School for a combined total of 48 years.
