About this scholarship
Doctoral students engaged in rheumatology research in any faculty at UBC Vancouver are eligible to apply.
Fellowship offers are $25,000 per year for a maximum of four years, or until the end of the fifth year of the doctoral program, whichever comes first. The fellowship is awarded through the Affiliated Fellowships Doctoral and Spring Graduate Awards competition, with recommendations made by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
Fellowships totalling $110,000 were endowed through a bequest from the Estate of Andrew Nord, who lived with arthritis from age 15. His bequest aims to prevent the disease, find better ways to live with it, and ultimately find a cure.
