About this scholarship
American Legion post-affiliated baseball players may be nominated by their team's manager or head coach through their department's Baseball Committee. Each department may select one player to receive at least a $500 scholarship.
Department winners retain the initial $500 award. Selected All-Academic Team honorees at the American Legion World Series may receive additional scholarships of up to $2,500 or $5,000. Funds must be used within eight years of high school graduation, excluding active military service.
Nomination forms, three letters of testimony, and a transcript must reach department headquarters by July 15.

- Family information including parents' names/occupations and family's adjusted gross income (scholarship is partially need-based)
- Player certification signature, parent/guardian consent, and post commander recommendation
- Application and testimonial letters must be postmarked to the department (state) headquarters no later than July 15
- The player must be nominated by an American Legion team manager or head coach through the department Baseball Committee.
