About this scholarship

Open to women enrolled in the UBC Vancouver Faculty of Forestry who are on a UBC Varsity Team or UBC Thunderbirds Sport Club. Preference is given to graduate students.

One or more awards are available, each with a minimum value of $500 up to the maximum allowable under athletic association regulations. Funding comes from family, friends, and colleagues in memory of Amanda Asay (1988–2022).

There is no separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry in consultation with the Athletics Awards Committee.

Amanda Asay completed her M.Sc. in 2013 and Ph.D. in 2019 in Forestry at UBC, researching relationships among trees in forest ecosystems. She also represented Canada internationally in baseball.
