About this scholarship

In-state transfer students entering an Alfred State baccalaureate program who have completed at least one full-time semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher may receive up to $1,500 per year applied to non-tuition expenses. Students with a 2.0 to 2.99 GPA may receive up to $500 per year.

Students who already hold a baccalaureate degree before enrolling at Alfred State are not eligible. Recipients must live on campus and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA each semester. Preference is given to students accepted by May 1.

Eligible transfer students beginning in the fall semester are considered based on their transfer credentials.

  • Enrollment in a baccalaureate (bachelor's) degree program at Alfred State
  • Completed at least one full-time semester at a prior institution
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA, maintained each semester to retain the award (award tier scales with GPA: 3.0+ = $3,000 total / $1,500 per year; 2.0-2.99 = $1,000 total / $500 per year)
  • Full-time enrollment and on-campus residence at the Alfred or Wellsville campus (award applies to non-tuition expenses)
  • Cannot have previously earned a baccalaureate degree
  • Must provide official documentation verifying eligibility; preference given to students accepted/committed by May 1
  • Phi Theta Kappa External Transfer Scholarship variant ($4,000 total) additionally requires proof of PTK membership in good standing
  • Eligible transfer students beginning in the fall are considered based on transfer credentials.
