About this scholarship
Four five-hundred-dollar Albert Bildner Prizes are awarded annually to Yale College undergraduates for high achievement in Spanish language, Portuguese language, and Latin American literature, honoring alumnus Albert Bildner, Class of 1937. Separate prizes recognize excellence in Spanish language courses, Portuguese language development, Latin American literature in Spanish, and Luso-Brazilian literature in Portuguese. Recipients are selected by Department of Spanish and Portuguese faculty based on academic performance and demonstrated growth in the relevant language or literary tradition at Yale.
