About this scholarship

Massachusetts residents from rural areas (outside an urban area with fewer than 15,000 inhabitants) with demonstrated financial need who attend eligible public Massachusetts colleges or universities full time in a certificate, associate's, or bachelor's program. Must be a permanent legal Massachusetts resident for at least one year before the academic year, a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, file the FAFSA, meet federal aid eligibility rules, have no prior bachelor's degree, and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Award amount varies. Need-based aid determined through the FAFSA.

Confirm rural residency and submit required documents to your institution's financial aid office. Each institution may nominate up to five candidates annually to the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
