About this scholarship

The Academic Achievement Award is a tiered automatic merit scholarship for nonresident first-year students admitted to Iowa State University based on cumulative high school GPA. Award levels range from three thousand dollars per year for a 3.10 GPA up to twelve thousand dollars per year for a 4.00 or higher GPA, all renewable for four years. Students apply only for admission; awards are granted automatically to eligible out-of-state students offered admission. Recipients must enroll full-time immediately after high school, maintain nonresident tuition status without establishing Iowa residency, and keep a minimum 2.50 cumulative ISU GPA with at least 12 credits each fall and spring semester. Full-tuition scholarship recipients are ineligible.
