About this scholarship

Doctoral students in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico pursuing advanced training and research in water supply and treatment may apply for the Abel Wolman Fellowship from the American Water Works Association. One fellowship of $30,000 is awarded annually, with a second year of support available if needed.

Applicants' work should show vision, creativity, and excellence with recognizable impact on the water industry. AWWA membership is not required. Submit a resume, one-page personal statement, three- to five-page research proposal, curriculum requirements, and a recent transcript.

Established in 1984, the fellowship honors Dr. Abel Wolman and supports meaningful doctoral research in water supply.
