About this scholarship
Graduate students in school administration who intend to pursue a career as a public school superintendent may apply through AASA, The School Superintendents Association.
Seven awards of $2,500 are granted annually. Applicants must be recommended by their School of Education chair, and only one application per campus is accepted. The application requires three career essays, one chair recommendation, and two endorsement letters.
AASA established these scholarships in 1949 to honor outstanding graduate students committed to educational leadership.

- One letter of recommendation from the chair/dean of the School of Education where the applicant is enrolled
- Two endorsement letters (max 400 words each): one from an officer of the school system where employed or a department member of the college/university attended; one from a leading citizen of the commu
- Only one application may be submitted per college/university campus, recommended by the chair of the School of Education
- Application deadline: September 30th annually
- Applicant must be recommended by their School of Education chair.
