Open annually to an undergraduate MD student in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary (entering second or third year) who is undertaking an approved career-exploration or clerkship elective in blood-related disease such as leukemia, haematology, or nephrology. Selection considers financial need. Preference is given to four-week electives at least 50 kilometres outside Calgary city limits. One bursary of up to $4,000 is available.
