Westminster Architecture and Environmental Design statement
Westminster's Architecture and Environmental Design BSc asks applicants to explain their interest in architecture, relevant creative studies, and practical exploration of the field. The course also assesses a portfolio of visual work, but tells applicants to wait until Admissions requests it. The statement and portfolio serve different purposes: motivation and reflection alongside evidence of visual process.

What to prepare
- 1Describe a building, exhibition, book, or conversation with a practice that changed how you think about architecture, and explain what you noticed.
- 2Connect creative work inside or outside school to a specific interest in environmental design and the course's spatial questions.
- 3Use the statement to explain your decisions and preparation; let portfolio captions identify individual works and how each developed.
How to approach the writing
- Apply through the route specified for the 2027–28 course and write the required subject-focused statement with your application.
- Prepare approximately 15–20 portfolio images showing observation, exploration, and final work, but submit them only when Westminster Admissions asks.
Before you submit
Westminster recommends a single digital PDF under 10 MB for the portfolio and asks for titles, approximate dates, and short project descriptions. Confirm your applicant-specific submission request and deadline; the course page does not publish a universal portfolio date.
