Imperial personal statement
Imperial uses the UCAS statement's three questions: motivation for the subject, preparation through study, and preparation outside education. The total limit is 4,000 characters, with at least 350 per answer.

What to prepare
- 1Name the scientific, technical, medical, or business question that makes you want this course.
- 2Connect a topic from your studies to a skill you will use at degree level.
- 3Use an independent project, work, or other experience to show what you learned beyond class.
How to approach the writing
- Imperial asks for genuine subject enthusiasm. Explain the work you did after an interest began, including mistakes or changes in understanding.
- Use the character budget unevenly if your strongest evidence belongs in one section, while meeting every minimum.
