Warwick International Foundation Programme personal statement
Warwick's International Foundation Programme has its own direct application and three-part personal statement. This is different from the shared UCAS statement used for Warwick undergraduate degrees. Applicants explain their course interest, intended degree and career direction, then choose one reflective question about a guest speaker, a setback, or how they would introduce themselves to new people.
Writing format
Three direct-application answers, up to 200 words each and 600 words total
What to prepare
- 1Explain why the foundation programme and chosen subject area fit your current preparation, using a specific interest or study experience.
- 2Connect the foundation course to the undergraduate degree you hope to pursue and a plausible longer-term ambition.
- 3Choose one of Warwick's three final questions and answer it directly with reflection, rather than trying to fit all three into the response.
How to approach the writing
- Keep each answer within 200 words and the full statement within 600; explain a study gap longer than a year if it applies to you.
- Apply through Warwick's IFP route when the new intake opens. Do not submit this three-part statement as a UCAS undergraduate personal statement.
Before you submit
Warwick says 2026 IFP applications are closed and currently offers registration of interest for 2027. Confirm that the same questions, upload format, and deadline apply when the 2027 direct application opens. The current statement page allows files up to 2 MB in .doc, .pdf, or .jpg format.
