UCL Architecture personal statement and portfolio
UCL Architecture applicants begin with the UCAS personal statement. After checking academic eligibility, UCL may request a digital portfolio; shortlisted applicants then discuss their work in an interview. The portfolio is an additional selection task, not an essay to upload with the initial UCAS form.

- Keep the UCAS statement useful for all your course choices; the later portfolio can show UCL the specifics of your design process.
- Select portfolio work only after reading the instructions UCL sends to applicants, since the request starts a two-week submission window.
Before you submit
For 2027, UCL says the requested portfolio may be up to 10 pages and 5 MB. Applicants to both Architecture BSc and MSci submit only one portfolio. Confirm the exact request and deadline in UCL's email.
