CSM Fashion Communication: Histories and Theories written task
After the initial UCAS application, eligible applicants may be asked for an 800-word piece considering fashion as an object, image, or text in historical and cultural context. The task is submitted through PebblePad.

What to prepare
- 1Use the UCAS statement to show why fashion history and theory interest you and how prior study has prepared you.
- 2For the later task, choose an object, image, or text and discuss what its historical and cultural context changes about its meaning.
- 3Support an interpretation with particular visual or written details rather than a broad account of fashion trends.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the 800-word argument focused on one example or a tightly connected comparison.
- Separate the general UCAS statement from the course-specific task, which is requested only after initial review.
