Oxford Fine Art personal statement and portfolio
Oxford's Ruskin School of Art requires both the UCAS application, which includes a personal statement, and a separate portfolio. The portfolio is a required selection step, not an extra essay; shortlisted applicants may later submit recent work for interview discussion.

What to prepare

- 3Prepare to discuss the ideas, artists, books, or exhibitions that informed your submitted and more recent work if invited to interview.
How to approach the writing
- Let the statement explain your intellectual direction while the portfolio demonstrates how you work with material and images.
- Submit the UCAS form first; Ruskin emails the SlideRoom link after the application is processed.
Before you submit
For 2027 entry, Ruskin lists October 15, 2026 for UCAS and November 5, 2026 for the portfolio. Missing either makes the application void. Confirm both deadlines and SlideRoom instructions on the official page.
