Manchester Architecture portfolio statement
Manchester School of Architecture asks 2027 BA Architecture applicants to submit a digital portfolio with a 450-word statement. The statement must cover why MSA, the applicant's own review of a recent exhibition or building visited, a favourite architect or building, and a work of architecture they would like to experience in person. The portfolio also contains 10–12 images of original work.

- 2Write your own observation of a recent exhibition or building you actually visited, naming a specific design decision you noticed.
- 3Use the favourite architect or building and the place you hope to visit to show two distinct interests within the 450-word statement.
How to approach the writing
- Allocate the limited word count across all four required parts before revising sentences for clarity.
- Pair the statement with 10–12 clearly labelled images of original work and follow the portfolio upload task in Self-Service.
