UVic public health BA letter of intent
UVic's BA in Public Health is an upper-year program. High-school applicants first enter Social Sciences and usually apply to Public Health after about two years of post-secondary study. The later program application includes a letter of intent and a separate resume; this is not a first-year university supplement.

What to prepare
- 1Name your preferred public health area of focus and explain what led you to it; UVic says the focus can change after admission.
- 2Explain why you want this BA and connect it to relevant study, work, or community experience and future plans.
- 3State whether you intend full-time or part-time study, as the official letter instructions request.
How to approach the writing
- Use the separate resume for employment, volunteer work, education, skills, and awards instead of turning the letter into a chronology.
- Keep the letter within two double-spaced pages in 12-point type with one-inch margins.
