UPEI PsyD personal statement and application essays
UPEI's clinical Psychology PsyD requires a supplemental application with a personal statement about preparation and program fit, as well as answers to essay prompts. The full supplementary directions appear in the application portal after payment. The public program page does not make those portal prompts a reusable general essay.

What to prepare
- 1Explain how your academic, research, and human-services experiences prepared you for intensive clinical doctoral training.
- 2Describe why UPEI's approach to clinical psychology fits the questions and populations you hope to serve, with a concrete connection to the program.
- 3Answer each separate portal prompt on its own terms; avoid repeating the same example across the statement and essays.
How to approach the writing
- Review the paid applicant portal before finalizing the statement so its current length and prompt instructions control your submission.
- Keep the academic summary, CV, references, and statement in their own requested fields; short-listed applicants are invited to an interview later.
Before you submit
UPEI's public PsyD page does not publish the current essay questions or their limits. Verify the intake deadline and exact supplemental instructions in the application portal; do not rely on an older public prompt sheet.
