McMaster Leadership & Civic Studies 2027 writing questions
Wilson College publishes the Leadership & Civic Studies 2027 supplement in advance. Applicants address a civic issue that sparked curiosity, an opportunity or challenge in a community, and a future ambition. For the fourth answer, they choose either a decision by an authority figure they would have made differently or a time they changed their mind.
Writing format
Four answers of up to 150 words each: three required topics and one choice of two prompts
What to prepare
- 1Use a specific event from the past year to show how a civic issue caught your attention and why the program fits that question.
- 2Identify one community you know or hope to join, then explain a concrete contribution you could make to a real challenge or opportunity.
- 3For the choice prompt, examine competing pressures behind a decision or what evidence made you change your mind; keep the future ambition distinct from these examples.
How to approach the writing
- Give each of the four responses a different job and stay within 150 words per answer.
- Apply to Leadership & Civic Studies I before opening the MacID supplement, then save a copy of your responses for your records.
Before you submit
Wilson College lists February 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for the supplement. Confirm the live portal questions and submission status before the deadline.
