McMaster Engineering 2027 written and video supplement
McMaster uses one Faculty of Engineering supplement for Engineering, iBioMed, Computer Science, and Bachelor of Technology applicants, even when an applicant chooses more than one of those programs. The 2027 assessment has one written question and three video questions about competencies such as engagement, collaboration, creativity, and resilience. Its practice questions are examples, not the assessed prompts.

McMaster says Kira answers must be entirely the applicant's own work and prohibits AI tools, other people, or external sources from generating responses.
What to prepare
- 1Prepare a few real experiences that show your own decisions, contributions, and what changed after a setback or collaboration.
- 2For the written response, practice identifying the question's focus quickly and giving a concise example and reflection without relying on a memorized answer.
- 3Use the sample questions to understand the competency areas, while expecting different questions in the live Kira assessment.

Before you submit
The high-school deadline is January 28, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern; the page gives a different April deadline for upper-level transfer and second-degree applicants. The supplement opens October 1, 2026. Follow your applicant-category invitation.
