McMaster Arts & Science 2027 supplementary questions
McMaster's Arts & Science program publishes five questions for 2027 applicants. They ask about interdisciplinary study, a meaningful learning experience, recent media that mattered, time spent outside school, and a future curiosity. Each answer has a 1,500-character limit including spaces. A second part of the form lets eligible applicants opt in to equitable or facilitated admissions processes.

Academic integrity
McMaster requires applicants to complete this supplement without help and prohibits generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, in their answers.
What to prepare
- 1Explain why an interdisciplinary Arts & Science degree fits an actual question or combination of fields you want to study.
- 2Choose a learning experience and a recent book, film, play, or other work that reveal different aspects of how you think.
- 3Describe one meaningful activity outside school and a curiosity you want to pursue next, without identifying yourself by name in the responses.
How to approach the writing
- Draft to the 1,500-character limit for each of the five published questions; punctuation and spaces count.
- Complete both parts in the MacID form after applying through OUAC, and keep any equitable-admissions opt-in separate from the writing answers.
Before you submit
McMaster lists February 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for the mandatory two-part supplement. Do not put your name or other directly identifying information in the answers. Check the live form before final submission.
